Sew Promises

Isaiah 55:11: “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
Led by Sherry Osland, the Sew Promises quilt ministry members create and give away quilts to encourage, to show appreciation, or to minister to physical and/or emotional needs. Each quilt contains a label with a scripture verse because it is His living Word and we claim Isaiah 55:11 as His promise.
Since its beginning in February of 2009, the quilt ministry has made and given quilts to the following:
  • a single woman dealing with serious health concerns such that she needs encouragement to believe in Jesus Christ as her Savior. Encouragement to believe in her value as a person so as not to take her own life. The quilt was made in her favorite colors – unbeknownst to those who made it. God is truly in the details and these colors became a testimony of His love specifically for her. He orchestrated it.
  • a young woman involved in a serious car accident several months ago who needs to know there are people who care. She has a long road to full recovery. Please help pray for her continued emotional and physical healing.
  • a young single mother in the loss of of her children.
  • a woman facing cancer treatments
  • the parents of a wounded soldier who needs continued prayer for healing.
  • missionaries supported by Emmanuel; showing our appreciation and encouragement. Through the quilt, they see daily evidence of our love and support.
  • Flannel receiving blankets (with matching cloths) and baby quilts are taken to the hospital to be given to new moms and babies in need.
