Momentum Youth

Partnering with parents to create world changers for Christ!

The Youth Ministry at Emmanuel Church seeks to reach the lost through revealing who God is, to disciple believers through connecting with others and growing in the Word, and to equip all for ministry through acting on our beliefs and faith.  This is all done as we are responding to God. This purpose is carried out through Specific Love to each student, large group activities, small group activities, and special activities throughout the year.

Sunday Morning

Sunday School (Discipleship Training) 9:55-10:55 am

This time is focused on the “Word”. We will be starting a series based on an award winning documentary called “Beware of Christians”. Sunday School is taught by Marc, with the occasional substitute (when one of the youth praise teams plays in church).

Sunday Night

Small Group (Accountability Training) – 5:00-6:30 pm

Small groups have been, and will continue to be the real focus of our youth ministry. This time will be designated to “Word, Worship, Fellowship, Prayer, and Acts of Service”. The key to past and future success lies in the participation of the Youth Shepherds. These individuals and couples play a huge role in the growth of our students. And to think, some students thought they got paid to be a shepherd….we know they are storing up treasures in heaven, and I thank them immensely for their continued service…

Wednesday Night

Momentum (Fellowship Training) – 6:00-8:00 pm

The main focus of Momentum is to be a “front porch” ministry, that provides an initial opportunity to get involved in the youth group. The first hour of Momentum is time to “fellowship with others”, where students can hang out in the youth lounge, play “old school” games (air hockey, foosball, or ping pong), and video games (Wii, PlayStation 3, and Xbox Kinect). From 7:00-8:00, one of the two youth praise teams will provide music, and Marc or one of the shepherds will provide a relevant message that will help us “Fellowship with God”.

SOLiD – “Students Outwardly Living in Discipleship”
This is basically a “ministry team” with a new name. This may not surface until second semester, but will be needed to provide leadership opportunities, and further training for our most dedicated, advanced students.

Special Events

“Hangin’ in the Youth Wing”

is an attempt to open the youth wing as a place to hang out. It happens every Thursday, after school, from 3:00-5:30. No specific agenda, but games will be available, as well as tutoring or help with homework.

“10:00 Late Start”

Any day that USD 435 has a 10:00 late start, the youth room will be open from 7:45 until 10:00 to give any middle school and high school student a place to be during this time. Food, fellowship and fun…. You don’t want to miss out!
